Do Golf and Manure Have Something in Common?

Thursday, June 11th, 2009

Hope you are having a great year on the golf course!
I came across this interesting story today about a golf term and wanted to share it with you.
Hope it puts a smile on your face!
——————————————————————————————–
MANURE……….AN INTERESTING FACT

In the 16th and 17th centuries, everything had to be transported by ship. It was before the invention of commercial fertilizers, so large shipments of manure were common.

Manure was shipped dry, because in dry form it weighed a lot less than when wet.
But once water (at sea) hit it, it not only became heavier, but the process of fermentation began again, of which a by product is methane gas. As the stuff was stored below decks in bundles, you can see what could (and did) happen.

Methan began to build up below decks and the first time someone came below at night with a lantern,
BOOOOM!

Several ships were destroyed in this manner before it was determined just what was happening.

After that, the bundles of manure were always stamped with the term “Ship High In Transport” on them. This meant for the sailors to stow it high enough off the lower decks so that any water that came into the hold would not touch this volatile cargo and start the production of methane!

Thus evolved the term ‘S.H.I.T’ (Ship High In Transport), which came down through the centuries and is in use to this very day.

You probably did not know the true history of this word.

Neither did I.

I had always thought it was a golf term!

——————————————————————————————
I hate to be a ‘S.h.i.t disturber’, but remember this information is a work of fiction and is for your entertainment only!

Wishing you a great day on the golf course!
break 80 today(so you do not have to use this so called acronymn!)

Here’s to breaking 80, 90, or 100–Whatever your goal may be!

Break 80, 90 or 100 in 2009?

Friday, January 23rd, 2009

Fellow Golfers, how many times are you going to break 80, 90, or 100 in 2009?

Whichever category you are in: breaking 80, breaking 90, breaking 100, or even just improving your score, here is wishing you great success in 2009.

I just wanted to let you know that I ended 2008 with a 78 on December 19, 2008. I was able to make 4 birdies ( 2 2’s on par threes) resulting in 41 on the front 9 and a 37 on the back. It was nothing but exhilarating.

I want to thank Jack Moorehouse and the How to Break 80 Program for a great year on the golf course. I broke 80 many times and it was great to consistently shoot in the low 80’s

Now that I have had a taste of it, the new year has me wanting more and more of those scores in the 70’s. What about you?

January 16, 2009 was another break 80 day for me. I shot 39/39 for a 78.

So, I am off to good start, how about you?

Again, whichever category you are in: breaking 80, breaking 90, breaking 100, or even just improving your score, here is wishing you great success in 2009.

HOT LADY GOLFER #1–LORENA OCHOA
Obviously, Lorena Ochoa is a hot lady golfer and does not need to learn ‘How to Break 80’!
She is the number one Lady Golfer in the world and we could all learn a thing or two from her.

Last week, November 13 to 16, 2008, Lorena hosted her first golf tournament called the
Lorena Ochoa Invitational. It was played on her home course, The Country Club in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico.
I was blessed with having the opportunity to not only meet Lorena, but also to volunteer to help with her Inaugural Lorena Ochoa Invitational. This gave me the chance to meet some of the top lady golfers from the LPGA.

I had the pleasure of being one of the hostesses at the Guadalajara Airport. One of our jobs was to greet the players, their families and caddies, and the officials of the LPGA. It was a great chance to get up close and personal with some fabulous lady golfers.
Truly a once in a life time experience.

I have added some pictures from my experience. If you did not have a chance to be there, maybe these will give you a look at a few candid photos of some of the top lady golfers in the world.
Enjoy! Here is to breaking 80 and at least getting in that top 5%!

Click on the Photos below if you want to see them larger. Hope you enjoy them.

Lorena played our course, The Atlas Golf and Country Club, a week before her tournament. She very graciously took the time to pose with me for a picture.

How to Break 80 Review 1: Part 3

Besides the reviews that I mentioned above, which in their own right are testimonials backing How to Break 80, there are twenty-seven individual letters of testament on the sales page Jack Moorehouse has for this golf guide. In these testimonials, people from all handicap ranges attest to the help this program has given them and how pleased they are with the immediate results. People of varied ages and from locations all over the world have included positive feedback for How to Break 80. There are stories covering all facets of the game: lowering scores, improving swings, bettering short shots, developing driving distance, enjoying the game more, increasing swing confidence, enhancing mental preparation, and the all important–impressing their friends. Check out the person from Singapore. This person even admits not being happy when first receiving the material, but according to his story has come full circle in his feelings about How to Break 80 and the effects it has had on his golf game.

Sounds like happy customers!

But…what are they saying about the price?

By far the best money I’ve ever spent on golf one golfer says. Others tote that it is “money well spent”, “a fantastic value”, and “for $37 it was a steal!” You get immediate access to How to Break 80 in ebook form. If you learn better with both reading and listening, then the ebook along with the audio program might be for you at $47. Either choice, they both come with a fist full of bonuses–six to be exact, and a 60 day money-back guarantee.

Like another of the testimonials mentioned “the free items were enough for the cost of the program.”

The consensus is they are getting value for their money.

Now, you have the scoop on ‘what they are saying’ about How to Break 80. It is feasible to conclude that Jack Moorehouse is not alone in thinking his golf instructional guide is a worthwhile investment.

Here’s to a Great day on the golf course! Thanks for taking the time to read this review.

One of the most fascinating things about golf is how it reflects the cycle of life. No matter what you shoot – the next day you have to go back to the first tee and begin all over again and make yourself into something. ~Peter Jacobsen

How to Break 80 Review 1: Part 2

If you missed the first part of this review just click on the Category on left side that says How to Break 80 Review 1. Here’s wishing you a Super day!

Hours of searching the web found dozens of credible golf sites recommending How to Break 80. The responses and reviews are positive. They like the realistic approach and going back to the basics of golf. They are enthusiastic about the easy to use drills and strategies to immediately improve your golf skills. They say it is a super book, written in an easy to understand manner.

It looks like these websites are pleased and are standing behind what How to Break 80 has to offer.

But…were there any numbers to back up these reviews?

From my research I only found a handful of reviews giving numerical ratings for How to Break 80. These numbers were based on main features, proven techniques, qualities, and effectiveness. Here are the ratings I found–based out of 10: 9.5, 9.4, 8, 8, and 8. These average out to a high rating of 8.58. Like Abraham Lincoln once said, “You can please some of the people some of the time, but you can’t please all of the people all of the time.”

From these numbers I would say that How to Break 80 has pleased these people.

But…were there any testimonials about the effectiveness of this golf instructional guide?
